My journey has just began…

Can you tell us about yourself?

Well…my name is Matthias Payton, I was born in Rocky Mount, North Carolina. My parents moved our family of 10 from Burlington to Durham, NC after surviving a terrifying car accident. Now looking back, that accident truly shifted our lives. During my childhood years I completed grade school and went to college for graphic design and business management.

How did you start blending teas?

Honestly the art of blending and formulating infusions was not my original plan. The goal was to become the owner of a game design company. Although I pursued that goal I couldn’t help but to experiment with foods, drinks and desserts during my childhood. It wasn’t until high school that I shifted my eating habits. I went through a health phase that stuck. I refused to consume anything I considered unhealthy. I even refused to drink sweet tea. During my early 20’s one of my closest friends presented to me quality loose leaf teas. I fell in love with it’s variety, and how natural the drinks were. I began to search for a local tea shop, and could not believe what I did not find.

What makes your product different?

After I failed to find a local tea shop, I decided to create my own blends at home. I needed taste testers after the first or second creations. So without much explanation I had my friends and co-workers to try the creations. This led to making blends for them while they were under the weather, dealing with stomach aches or just wanted something good and different to drink. After receiving positive feedback how these beverages helped them, I started to do research of every ingredient I used, it’s benefits and how to maintain it’s unique quality. Just like people, every tea, spice and herb has individuality and unique traits that must be preserved. We specialize in maintaining quality, blending for balance in flavor, health benefits, to give you an experience.

What is your goal or vision?

My ultimate vision is to help others. I plan to do this by formulating herbal infusions with only natural and organic ingredients. I believe that if you love the taste then you will drink the infusions regularly. Thus promoting positive health in your body. Everything I do along with those to support me to make drinking healthy beverages easier. The number of ingredients, the materiel , where the products are sourced, are all researched so you may have a quality drink that is as simple as adding hot water and sweetener if desired.

Some of the long term goals include allowing people to enjoy my infusions in order promote a healthier lifestyle. I also seek to share my dream to the world

Under normal global circumstances Jasper & Gold’s herbal infusions is offered during pop-up events that were hosted regularly. You would have the opportunity to see, smell, and taste the unique all-natural blend of ingredients. These pop-ups gives you the chance to claim an infusion for yourself. Every infusion is made fresh, hot or cold depending of the climate and season and unsweetened. Organic sweeteners are available to fit individual preferences.
